The Exchange on 16th is a $485 million Urban Research Campus that consists of 4 interconnected buildings (two 12-story and two 6-story) located in Mission Bay’s Block 40, just south of 16th Street and east of Interstate 280.
Designing Port adjacent and rail supported logistics center required a thorough understanding of constraints, opportunities, and process to redevelop the former Oakland Army Base.
BKF is assisting Intuit with its vision of high sustainability, designing many sustainable features on the campus. The design preserves existing trees, uses native drought tolerant plants, develops green storm water management strategies, creates alternative transportation options and uses the latest renewable energy technologies.
625,000 SF commercial 33-story high-rise tower located near the Transbay Terminal in the South of Market District of San Francisco constructed of a steel frame with glass curtain skin with two levels containing 180 subterranean parking stalls.
BKF has been providing civil engineering and surveying services for this 80-acre commercial campus. Design included rezoning, general plan amendments, CEQA processing, master planning, and engineering. Survey included ALTA surveys, parcelization, entitlement processing, and full construction plans for the campus site layout, grading, and utility plans.
BKF was responsible for the preparation of design documents and mapping for the first phase of an ultimately 2.8 million square foot office campus on 43-acres in North San Jose. As part of the first phase of development, BKF prepared planning documents, design development plans, construction drawings, and completed a resolved boundary and associated mapping.
BKF provided complete civil design for the Oracle headquarters site located at the former Marine World Africa USA Park in Redwood Shores.
BKF provided multidisciplinary planning, design, entitlement, and construction support services to redevelop the Port of Richmond’s Historic Kaiser Shipyard Number 3. The comprehensive infrastructure project serves Honda import/export requirements.
The Transbay Tower in San Francisco will total approximately 1.3 million square feet of commercial office space and become the tallest building in San Francisco.
BKF provided civil design for site improvements on 10 Apple retail stores and data centers in California. Apple project locations include: Cupertino, Elk Grove, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Stockton, Berkeley, Fremont, Newark, Newport Beach, Rancho Cucamonga
The Barlow, a new events center in Sebastopol, includes a mixture of new and refurbished retail spaces & restaurants.
The Sonoma-Cutrer Winery improved their facilities with updates to their winery, warehouse, roads and infrastructure.
With a rapid schedule and design-build project delivery method, BKF worked diligently to assist the team in securing entitlements and building permits. Complicated by limited site area, topographic constraints, and minimal public drainage infrastructure, BKF developed a strategy to comply with NDPES C.3 storm water quality requirements which includes three bioretention areas which capture 80% of the average annual runoff.
BKF provided master planning and civil design for the new 70-acre, 1 million sq. ft office/hotel campus in San Jose.
A redevelopment of 17.84 acres of land to be transformed into the leading and cutting edge commercial office space located in the heart of Silicon Valley for leading technology companies and the community. Some of the challenges on this project included: Stormwater management/quality, utility coordination of the central utility plant, and recycled water for toilet & non-potable uses.
Redeveloping the former Los Robles Lodge site into a commercial retail development required both sensitivity to protecting mature oak trees and accommodations for street improvement to improve circulation.
The historic Indian Springs Resort and Spa in downtown Calistoga is nearly tripling in size; expansion includes the addition of 75 guest rooms, and events center, a new restaurant, new roadways, and reclaimed water facilities for landscape irrigation.
